Apricot Hazelnut Cake - My Liberica - fresh roasted coffee, min. 50 g

Liberica is the 3rd species of coffee tree - compared to its better known siblings Arabica and Robusta, it is very rarely grown and accounts for about 1% of global coffee production. You can find out more about liberica in our article.

My Liberica was established in 2011 as Malaysia's first Liberica company. The company caters for everything from coffee growing and processing to roasting and preparation.

The coffee is grown on a 20-hectare plot of land in Johor in the heart of Malaysia. Due to the soil and special climatic conditions, the Liberian coffee tree, which has deeper roots than Arabica and can be grown on the clay soil of Johor, thrives here. The coffee is fertilised naturally, using residues from coffee production as fertiliser, as well as café lye.

My Liberica processes all the coffee itself. In 2014, they invested in the construction of a Liberica processing station. This allowed them to focus on improving the taste and experimenting with coffee processing. In 2020, they joined forces with Sasa Sestic, who won the World Barista Championship in 2015. Together, they created an anaerobic liberici processing process that has elevated the quality of the coffee beans to one of the best selections.

Apricot Hazelnut Cake from My Liberica is characterized by the dense sweet taste of chocolate, hazelnuts and the fruitiness of apricots.
