Honduras is sometimes nicknamed the "green lung" of Central America for its vast forests and rainforests with pure nature and full of wild fauna and flora. This beautiful country, with its vast mountains, is a great place to grow coffee.
This coffee is grown at 1100 metres above sea level in the Comayagua and Montecillos mountains, where it grows in the shade of various native plants. The farm is part of COHORSIL (Cooperativa Cafetalera Siguatepeque Limitad). COHORSIL has been operating for more than 40 years and seeks to motivate farmers to use socially and environmentally responsible practices and to modernise coffee processing in order to increase production efficiency without disturbing regional resources. The coffee cherries are carefully hand-picked during the harvest and then processed in a local mill.
