More information about the coffee in the description below. More
The history of coffee growing in Jamaica is like a story from a book. In 1728, Sir Nicholas Lawes, later Governor of Jamaica, brought the first coffee trees from French Martinique. The country was ideal for the variety and nine years later Jamaica was exporting over 37 tonnes of coffee.
Between 1728 and 1768, the coffee industry developed mainly in the foothills of St. Andrew, but gradually coffee cultivation spread to the Blue Mountains. The soil here is tropical, slightly acidic and enriched with volcanic ash. It contains organic matter which helps to retain moisture in the soil, thus ideally oxygenating the root system of the coffee trees.
This coffee is an excellent selection of the finest, world-renowned Arabica beans from Jamaica. It has a wonderful, full body with a delicate aroma, slightly acidic and exceptionally delicious flavour with dark chocolate intensity and blueberry acidity.
