More information about the coffee in the description below. More
On the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the Arabica variety began to be cultivated in the 18th century under Dutch colonial rule. Previously, the designation of coffee was not differentiated according to regions, but thanks to the ethnic group of the population involved in coffee cultivation, this coffee was given the name Mandheling. The Grade I marking in the name of the coffee speaks of the exclusive quality of the beans, which must meet very strict criteria for this label. The perfect selection of beans guarantees maximum enjoyment from a wide range of flavours.
Kopi Indonesia Mandheling Grade I is a strong and complex coffee. It will captivate you with a slightly bitter aroma of spices with a slight hint of tropical fruit. The taste of sweet acidity with tones of cedar and fruit alternates with the aftertaste of flowers, chocolate and nutmeg.
These coffee cherries are selectively picked by small-scale growers. With the help of the wet peeling process, farmers mechanically remove the outer skin. They store the grains for up to a day, when they still contain mucilage, and then wash it off by rinsing it and start the drying process in the sun. As a result, this coffee has a typical intense taste and a heavy body.
